April 26th-Morning | PICTURES

Do you like having your picture taken? Do you remember the funniest photo you’ve ever taken? A picture is worth a thousand words. I know a few people that are addicted to photography (my daughter’s one of them – she’s not the only one!) and I’m sure that almost all of us have been to events, celebrations, outings and activities where we’ve taken pictures or been photographed.

Walter Baxendale once told a story about the pious poet, William Cowper, expressing Cowper’s warm affection for his mother’s memory when after her death he was presented a picture of her. Cowper said, “I would rather possess that picture than the richest jewel on the British crown.” The Bible says in Colossians 1:15, “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before God made anything at all and is supreme over all creation.” Jesus is the picture of God himself and having Him in your heart means possessing everything that would make the richest persons of the world a picture of worthlessness compared to Him.
