May 3rd-Afternoon | SLOW DOWN
Zechariah 4:6 says, “This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” What do you do when you see “Slow Down” or “Reduce Speed”? If you’re like most people, you’re probably saying “It depends” – right? Why is it that when you’re in a hurry, it seems like slow drivers are everywhere? My wife and I would laughingly say that all the slow drivers were heading to where we were going. I believe those slow drivers were put there for a reason: they are God-sent obstructions to slow us down because when we do things our own way, we often endanger ourselves or others. There’s a technique used slow down speeders in Japan where the police have taken to psychological warfare by planting dummy cops near intersections and in the bushes along country roads. The police claim that 99% of motorists slow down when they spot the dummies, especially at night when headlights make the fakes look all the more realistic. Whatever you do in life, there will be time for slowing down. These slow downs are not there to stop you from getting to your goals, but rather to keep you safe and alive as you arrive at your goal. Always remember that the hand of God is orchestrating your life and His timing is perfect. |
