May 4th-Evening | PROMISE KEEPERS
Have you kept your promises? Genesis 9:13 says, “I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my permanent promise to you and to all the earth.” How beautiful is a rainbow? It has a full spectrum of colors that can mesmerize anyone who gazes upon it. More than enthrallment is the promise that God has given us that represents that beautiful and full spectrum of colors – a promise that is anchored in His faithfulness to keep His promise. 2 Timothy 2:13 says, “If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.” When my wife and I got married, we wanted to have a child right away and just 3 months after our wedding day we thought she was pregnant. Our excitement was cut short when in the fourth month she had a miscarriage. We were devastated, but it was during those days that she felt God’s sweet presence assuring her with His words in Hebrews 13:5, “be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, ‘I will never fail you. I will never forsake you.’” Well, in keeping with that promise, God gave us two beautiful children and we are always reminded when we see them that He is a promise keeping God. Just like rainbows, promises kept are always beautiful. |
