May 9th-Afternoon | SO YOU WANT TO HAVE GOOD FAMILY

Do you plan to have a good family? Have you ever heard of newlyweds that planned for their divorce during their honeymoon? Me neither. Usually newlyweds talk about their future, how many kids they want to have and when do they want to have a baby. Honeymoons are all about plans to build a strong, loving, caring and beautiful family – never about planning to have a broken one. So where did divorce come from? In the book of Matthew, Jesus was asked by the Pharisees about divorce and why God allowed for it. Jesus said in Matthew 19:8, "Moses permitted divorce as a concession to your hard-hearted wickedness, but it was not what God had originally intended.” Divorce is not part of God’s plan. It’s a result of the hard hearts and the free will of man. The only cure for divorce is to make your family a family of God.  In 1 John 5:18 it says, “We know that those who have become part of God's family do not make a practice of sinning, for God's Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot get his hands on them.” Be a part of the family of God and your family will be secure in His hands.
