May 17th - Afternoon | MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS – GOD?
Romans 1:25-27
“Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved.”
I read about a small weekly newspaper that was having a tough time filling one of their weekly columns. The senior editor had his compositor set up the Ten Commandments, and the newspaper ran them without making any editorial comments. Three days after that paper was published he received a letter saying, “Please cancel my subscription. Your newspaper is getting too personal.” When the Word of God is no longer accepted as the very voice of God that corrects man, we come to believe that we can run our own affairs without God’s divine guidance. We say to God, “Mind your own business.” George Washington said “It is impossible to rightly govern without God and the Bible.”
