May 22nd - Morning | MEEKNESS IS THE KEY

Psalm 37:11
Those who are gentle and lowly will possess the land; they will live in prosperous security.

This verse is true not only for Old Testament times, but also for this generation. In the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:5), Jesus says, “God blesses those who are gentle and lowly, for the whole earth will belong to them.” Accordingly, the horse that wins the race is “the meekest on the track.” This is the horse most under control; the horse that responds most quickly and obediently to the jockey’s guidance and command. Conversely, the self-willed horse might run faster than many others at the beginning of a race, but often will not finish the race and lose. Meekness is the proper recognition of who we are and who is in control. God is the potter and we are the clay.
