Amos 8:11
"The time is surely coming," says the Sovereign Lord, "when I will send a famine on the land—not a famine of bread or water but of hearing the words of the Lord.

The desire to read and listen to the word of GOD is totally different from the desire of physical body for food. Physically the more we don’t eat the more we get hungry, the more we crave for food. On the other hand, as Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 "No! The Scriptures say, 'People need more than bread for their life; they must feed on every word of God.” When we talk about spiritual, the more we don’t eat or read the word of GOD, the more we don’t crave for it until we don’t like the taste of it. I remember a quotation that says “Bible will keep you away from sin but sin will keep you away from the Bile. When you say no to GOD’S word famine is on its way.
