June 18th - Evening | TEMPTATIONS IN YOUR DESERT

Matthew 6:13
And don't let us yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Jesus demonstrated the way to face the temptations that the devil will employ upon our path. He was brought to the desert where everything is scarce and the needs are overwhelming. This is the perfect scenario that is symbolic of where we are right now. Times are scarce and the needs may seem overwhelming, and Satan just might come along and offer you something that you want. It could be anything. Name it. The sky’s the limit. Satan said to Jesus in Matthew 4:9, "I will give it all to you, if you will only kneel down and worship me." Ironically, Satan’s statement unveils our key: worship. Our enemy understood that if we worship God, our Father in Heaven will provide all of our needs. Satan was trying to be GOD. Jesus responded bluntly in the next verse, “Get out of here, Satan. For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God; serve only Him.’” Now you know that when temptations appear in your desert that Jesus went thru the same exact challenges as you and that He understands what you’re going through.
